This single family owned 1982 Porsche 928 is finished in a rare Wine Metallic over special-order brown leather and was optioned with a limited-slip differential, electric sunroof, drivers & passenger full power seat, digital radio, alarm, and amplifier. Power comes from a 4.5-liter V8 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Factory 16″ alloy wheels remain equipped. Under the hood is a 4.5-liter V8 with two valves per cylinder sending power to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and factory-optional limited-slip differential. US-spec output was 220 horsepower and 245 lb-ft of torque when new. Since December, the alternator and cooling shroud were replaced, window tinting was removed, the fuel tank was removed and cleaned, a new fuel filter was installed, the front brake pads and sensors were replaced, and the A/C system was serviced. Original owners manual and maintenance book. Tool Kit, Spare Tire, Jack. Huge binder of all service records dating back to 1986. The accident-free Carfax dates back to 1982 and lists all events in New York.
I have a HUGE binder with all of the service records since being purchased by the 2nd owner in 1986. The receipts show consistent maintenance over the years i.e. Oil changes, Belts, Brakes, Fuel pump, Suspension, etc. Additionally, there is a receipt for a rebuilt transmission from PAR in 1988, a major engine out service in 1996 that included cams, rebuild heads, valve guides, trimming belt, rollers, injector seals, ignition wires, etc., and another major service in 2002 at 143,337 miles for $2,650 that included belt tensioner assembly, tensioner rollers, crank pulley, timing belt, water pump, thermostat, all belts, distributor cap & rotor, ignition wires, etc.
In 2003 at 147k miles another big maintenance service was conducted including a fan clutch, tie rod assemblies, steering rack boots, brake pads & sensors, spark plugs, front wheel bearings, and more. Overall the car was perfectly maintained and is in excellent mechanical condition. Here is a link to a start up video where you can see how it starts on a dime, ideals beautifully, has lot's of power, and sounds amazing. https://vimeo.com/351637139
As for electrical, the car has zero issues. No warning lights on the dash and all electrical components work as intended with the exception of the sunroof. From what I can tell, the drivers side motor is not working. When you hit the switch, it starts to open but then quits. It does close back with no issues. Everything else is perfect. Windows, wipers, rear wiper, headlights, turn signals, radio, electric seats, everything! Oh... and amazingly the A/C works great and blows cold.
